"Great out of the box!" Many people are satisfied with that. I am just not among them. I have yet to encounter any factory gun that was great out of the box. OK, yes. Great,no.

I'll buy that kind of 'junk' any time.
My buddy has been shooting the RIA more than his SIG220, even though the SIG shoots a tighter group. He prefers the 1911 design and feel.
We had beaucoup problems with the more expensive Springfield Armory - poor accuracy, would not group, detent tube kept falling out, poor trigger feel.
Everone I know who has the RIA likes them.
Sorry to burst your bubble... But I bought a brand new RIA 1911 in the spring of 2005 and before I could put 100 rounds through it the gun started to stovepipe.(and yes I was using premium ammo) and also compared to my colt 1911 the accuracy wasn't very good. And further more the firing pin part of the hammer mushroomed and needed to be replaced. I still safely say that they are junk. Save the extra paychecks and get good quality

it could be your mags...

Out of 4 of my mags, I have one that stove pipes. When I dont use that one mag, my Norinco works fine.
