Armscor 1911?

Hi,
In my quest for a good but unexpensive 1911, I often hear about the Armscor guns. But a friend of mine told me they're but crappy pseudo-weapons!!! Is it true? What can you say about these guns? Reliablility, accuracy, finitions, problems… I read that in the 90', they were poor quality but that they were now much better. Since when are they better?

A lot of people like them. I'm sure there are some opinions from here on Armscor/RIA but here is a link dedicated to the subject. That said, I wouldn't mind owning one. 'course I'm a 1911 whore. I'd like to have a sample from every maker out there.

own one and love it, rock island that is. It will now be known as twin pines so if you find one marked armscor or rock river, pick it up!
