1911A1 EMP - 9mm 40 or 45? I like what I hear about this weapon. I've been introduced to shotgunning (upland hunting) by my son-in-law and will be new to citizen carry, but I'm experienced with the government .45 from years back in the service. Is the EMP a good choice? And which caliber?

That depends on what your needs are. Are you a one well placed .45 will do the job. Or are you a more point and spray kind of guy. If you can find a range that rents them, that's probably the best way to find what best suits you.

A lot of folks like the 40 S&W today but the 45 has more wallop. You wouldn't be disappointed with either and I need to go see what an EMP looks like cause I don't know what it is...A.H

Not sure either on model of 1911 you have posted but, 9mm is the highest capacity mosy likely, 40 having more fire power and just a few less rds, and 45 the largest of the three and holding less than the other two, is more potent and depending on your aim Id go with the larger caliber.
