Fusion Parts Quality?

Hello,

I'm thinking about replacing my STI ambi safety simply because it's seen a lot. I'd like to put it back on the Charles Daly I have and grab and fit a new one specifically to my Rock Island - one that's not beat up etc.

I had a bad experience once with a cheap ambi breaking on me. It was the stock on the early CD I mentioned.

I'd like not to repeat that experience. The STI snaps together, doesn't ride apart on the RIA frame, and is pretty good overall. But, it's pricey. I know a lot of it is the name.

I've been seeing Fusion gun parts around, and I'm wondering about their quality. Ed Brown and STI safeties run around $60, but Fusion runs around $25.

Is it that they've not "gotten a name" yet and are good quality, or are they just poor quality? Anyone have any experience?

I do need an ambi safety as I'm a lefty.

Thanks,

Josh <><

Josh,

I've never heard of Fusion. I would be interested to see how their parts are.

I will try to do some more checking on the internet...to see if I can tell the type of parts they are and why the parts are more than half the cost of the other competitors.

Thanks for posting!

Josh, I have bought Fusion parts and can attest they are high quality stuff. I hope you do know that Bob Serva, the owner, ran Dan Wesson before CZ bought them out. You ever hear of many Dan Wesson horror stories from owners?

Only Fusion I've ever heard of were from Federal ammunition. Hmm, wonder if there'll be any name infringement? lol

One way I tell if something is cheap due is where they sell the stuff or who sells the stuff. Like Midway USA. They're not know for selling junk are they? Brownell's, same thing, they're not know for selling junk. If Fusion parts are sold there, the odds are good that it's pretty decent quality stuff...

But if the only place you can find it is say Cheaper than Dirt or similar, I think I'd pay the $60 bucks and get what I know works...

I just did a search (Yahoo search engine) titled "Fusion gun parts". I hate to say it but most of what came up was for paintball parts/guns? So you might want to look into a little deeper and see if that's where they got there start and where they made there name?

I'm not sure, but I've only seen Fusion selling Fusion. It's like I said, after Bob Serva was running Dan Wesson, CZ bought them. Bob went off and started his own company.

If I'm not mistaken, a lot of Fusion parts and frames are actually STI - so you do get the STI quality for half the price.

Bob knows his stuff. I called the number listed on their website and Bob himself answered the phone! Customer service is great - he's very good at recommending which parts work better in different scenarios.

Well I did find their home page/website, but couldn't find a safety, but not done looking around yet... lol

Fusion Firearms

If this is what you're looking for, they're not $25 bucks. If they're, I'm not sure they're Fusion. I say this because the Fusion ambi-safties I found are from $49.95-$59.95. See link... >>>

If what you paid $60 for worked, may as well go ahead and replace it with that again or this time?

Actually, they're priced high on their sight it looks like. They sell them on a popular auction sight for $25 starting, and they go for that most of the time because nobody really bids on them.

I'd have to ask myself, does no one bid on them because they aren't really Fusion parts? Be cautious, especially on auction sites. READ THE AD. Example: I was looking for an EoTech magnifier and when I typed in EoTech on Ebay, I found/find sellers love to use the word in there title, along with AimPoint, but only to have their auctions come up in those searches. But you are not getting either product... So buyer beware on auction sites.

For my personal safety and to know I'm getting what I pay for and preferring it works when I get it and need it, I'll gladly pay the higher price then not and find out it's junk...

I mean, do you really think Fusion sells their products to dealers of their product so low that they can get that or let them go for that little on auction sites? Or so they can under cut Fusion, by that much anyways? Think about it...

If you go to eBay and type in "1911 safety," a bunch of Fusion parts pop up.

If these aren't genuine, then Fusion needs to be suing somebody.

There is a link to their eBay store on their webpage last I looked.

No, that's where I bought my first Fusion parts, on ebay. Maybe he buys them from STI or somebody else, but he puts them in Fusion Firearms packaging.
