Taurus PT1911

For those of you who are familiar...

I got a loan for $1000 for a new gun for my dad. When I was talking to my dad about getting him a 7mag he wasn't too excited or anything so I thought about it real hard and went down to the local shop and bought a PT1911 with a stainless slide. It sure is a doozy. All in all with an extra mag, box of FMJs ($23.99 WTF?) and my elk and deer tags it cost me $811. The game tags were like $80 somethin total but I think I got a pretty decent deal; even with the overpriced Taurus mag at $38 and the $24 box of FMJs. 3mags a sick lookin gun and my game tags? Not bad aye? You might ask what about getting you dad that gun...well being's he wasn't too revved up about it I spose he has what he needs for the time being and instead I'm going to refurbish his reloading stock for .22-250. Get him some new brass, powder, primers and bullets over the course of a time and I think he'll be pretty stoked about that at least. =)

PS> I'm gonna post pics tonite.

Now I'm in the market for a holster...I have a leather one in mind down at the store I got my gun from, but I was also looking at the Blackhawk-Serpa holsters. This one in particular but maybe a different model who knows.

38924 - Colt 1911 CQC SERPA Belt Holster, Right Hand, Matte Finish, Black, Warranty

Question is, will my gun fit it? Its a full-sized 1911 with a 5" barrel and no rail.

Yeah I was pretty stoked. There was a CITADEL 1911 that I was lookin at too, but I like the intimidation that Black-on-Stainless-on-Black gives.

That is a Great Looking 1911 !!! The holster at Cheaper Than Dirt is very popular and I think you'll like it.
My son bought a couple for his Glocks BUT if your like him you'll end up buying 2 or 3 more holster of differing styles.

Might I suggest this one? It comes with both the paddle and belt mounting systems.

Shot the gun today and by no means am I even mediocre at shooting pistol and I put all but the first shot in a 6inch circle from about 25 yards away. I wasn't at my usual range because there is road construction by my house and so is the range so it'd be a nightmare getting either to the range or getting to my house after lol.

I was too, I was holding some other guns there and this one just had me. The beauty and intimidation is just amazing. Its also very comfortable once you get your hand snug in and have that firm grip on it. It felt really good with gloves on (I was working the slide with an empty mag to practice slide-release) as well which is a plus as I want to be able to use the gun should I have to when I'm hunting. Between blackbears, mountain lions and the rare wolf the size of a over-sized german shephard if you don't believe me I got the pictures from a game cam from the local G&F to prove it; or the rare grizzly you can never be too safe. You never know when you won't have the chance to pull up the ol Rem 700 .30-06 in time when something is approacing you.

Cut me some slack. The wireless connection I'm stealing at the beach is painfully slow.
Plus I'm still kinda hung over.

What size waist you need? I have a couple of the black leather "buckle less" belts at home.

I think when income tax comes around I'm gonna buy another.
One thing is for sure I'm glad I saw yours with a different set of grips, I wasn't sure if I would have to get Ambi-Safety specific grips or not. THANKS MAN!!!
