Dan Wesson sights?

The sights on my Dan Wesson Bobtail Classic are a bit off. So I unscrewed the set screw and tried to move them a bit. They wont move!

Anyone know how to get them to. They don't need to move much. It about 4" to the right at twenty yards but I would like to get it fixed. By the way it had night sights.

have someone else shoot your gun to verify it's the sites ? I had a buddy one time that bought a Rossi .357 and was getting ready to adjust the sites . He said they were a little off ? I picked up the gun and out of 6 shots , put 6 shots dead center of the target !
Needless to say , it wasn't the sites. He just needed to learn those sites on that gun ? This just may be your problem ? after having someone else shoot it and it's still off ? then adjust the sites ?
I'm not sure why they aren't moving ?

been their and done that. One of my friends shot it and shot even further right than I do with it. Which I could be unconciusly compensating for it too. I love the gun but hate the sights!

From CZ: Loosen the set screw. Heat may need to be applied. Then with the rear of the slide in a vise drift the sight with a hammer and dowel to the left or right.

I have the same pistol, so this is nice to know.

Sights should move fairly easily, personally I like the sights on the DW CBOB
If you cant get them to move I would be careful tapping on them becuase of the night sights, go easy. If they still wont move I suggest calling DW as they have great customer service

If you do decide to tap them, use a brass or other soft material so you don't mar the sight or, if the punch slips, the gun. DO NOT figure you can just be careful with a steel punch unless you are willing to risk visual damage to the gun.

With the set screw out, maybe you can put a drop of thin oil in the screw hole and let it sit for a day or so. The oil should move itself in between the sight and the slide. Then try to move it again. If it's still frozen in place, tap it lightly with the drift and the vibrations might help the oil work into the space between the sight and the slide

When you say night sights, what exactly do you mean? If they are just the phosphorescent paint dots, you should be able to tap them with no worry about damage to the night aspect of them.

They are Trijicon Tritium Night Sights. They have bulbs with gas in them, not painted dots

You'll be tapping on the front of the rear sight anyway.

Midway sells a little vice like device that lets you move sights in their dovetail with screw pressure. I don't know if it would fit your slide, but if you look at a pic of it you might be able to come up with something similar.
