| Senior Member | Magazine for Mini-14 I just got a Mini-14 and need some additional magazines. I have heard to stay away from after market magazines but the factory magazines are considerably higher than after market. Does anyone have any recommendations for reliable after market magazines for the Mini-14? |

| Senior Member | MAG-390 - Mag Mini-14 .223 Ruger Factory 20 Rounds Blued New in Ruger Carton. Very Rare - Manufactured by: Ruger Factory Mags $50 each. You can go cheaper after-market but I don't think you will be happy. |

| Senior Member | I bought a dozen aftermarket and they work fine. There was some sharp edges I didn't like and took a little sand paper to them. But I think you'll find the mini-14 is a little rough around the edges period, it chews with it's mouth open so to speak. I don't bother saving the brass it is too rough on them. In my opinion the balance of the mini-14 is better with 20 round clips. The accuracy falls off after 75 yards too, unless you have one of the newer mini-14 which I've heard they have improved in accuracy? ![]() Gun Clips And Mags at Sportsman's Guide

| Member | I've found Thermold (original, not the polymer ProMags) and PMI to be the best aftermarket Mini-14 magazines. Sadly, neither is currently in production (although it's still possible to find them - see below). My experience with ProMag has been hit and miss. Some worked fine, some needed work, and some didn't work at all (they do have a lifetime warranty though). I use them only as range mags. Frank's Gun Stuff has blued PMI 40 round mags for $30.00: Frank's Center, Inc - Billiard Supplies and stainless PMI 30 round mags for $33.00: Frank's Center, Inc - Billiard Supplies |
