Fobus Holster

Don't buy Fobus holsters for the Maks; they are crap. I am talking about the clamp type riveted plastic holster. I have a Uncle Mike's kydex holster for my Sig and love it. The Fobus looks similar, but is nowhere near as good.

Really? I have a Fobus paddle for my Glock 23 and then the mag holder and cuff case. Been very happy with them so far. Blade Tech is the true way to go if you have the money.

I also bought a Fobus paddle for my Kimber 1911. Said it fit all 1911's and clones but I think my Kimber is slightly more thin than a Colt b/c it kept bouncing around. My buddies Colt fit great though. Gave him the holster.

Well, I was specifically talking about the Makarov holster. They may work better for other pistols. In fact, that is why I posted in THIS forum, rather than in general or handguns. I do not have enough knowlege of fobus to condemn their entire lineup; I only know their plastic Makarov holster sucks.

I have the Fobus ankle holster for my Glock 36 and the paddle for my Glock 29. Both perform very well. Which leads to the question of why would Fobus, whose quality is generally fine to very good, put out crap for just one particular pistol?? You may have gotten one that you need to invoke the guarantee on!!!! Mistakes will be made occiasionally!!

Hey Klaus, does the Uncle Mike's run about the same price as the Fobus? I'm thinking it does. I've heard that they are made of a tougher and harder material, more like Blade Tech...

I am fairly sure it is a design problem. You have to pull the at a very bad angle to get it to come free. You have to first push the pistol into your waist, then jerk it for a draw. If you pull straight up or angled forward, it won't budge. The Uncle Mikes Kydex holsters seem much better made and are adjustable.
