Marlin XT-22

I've had the XT-22 for about a month now. I still can't believe how such an inexpensive rifle could be so awesome. I really love that Pro Fire trigger.

Here's a review and range report I wrote up on it: Gun Nook: Guns, Gun Shops, Gun shows, Auctions, Reviews, Articles, FFL Dealers, and more. - Marlin XT-22 Review and Range Report

Thanks, It's a great rifle. Just bought a ten round mag for it. The 7 round it came with is ok, but with no back ups I spend more time reloading than shooting.

Since you've got a Bipod on it, you might wanna consider the 25-rd Champion banana-shaped mag

They are listed for the 795...but the mags switch back & forth on these rifles

I was looking at those 25 rounders, but I hear that they have feed problems. I still may invest in one.

The first series of Shooter's Ridge with the green follower had issues...of course, it was a first run.

The current run of Champion mags with the grey follower, MUCH better
I've got a pair and they give me zero issues

The big thing about aftermarket mags with Marlins is that you pretty much have to pillar-bed your 2005+ receiver for proper stock/action mating...
they seem to work much better in older Marlins than the 2005+ ones...I wonder if they bought the old Ramline mold from the 80's??
That would explain a lot...

Try to find 'em on sale for $20...that way, if it goes wonky, you're only out $20

Nice review. Nice groups, as good or better than a CZ.
I'm sold on Marlin .22's also. My Marlin 60 C has been amazing me every time I take it out.

I have a prototype Marlin model 25N .22lr bolt/walnut stock-very nice grain-shoots like a dream. I also have a model 60 and a model X7-there almost twins. Both tube fed, iron sights, walnut stocks the X7 is bolt. Last but not least a model 882 .22mag-they all are outstanding performers....your write up was great.....

My pro fire trigger stinks. It still needs a trigger job. I bought this thing to avoid a trigger job. Thought it would be decent out of the box. I think mine adjusted down from 7 pounds to 5 pounds. Sucks...

A quality .22 is a joy

A quality .22 is a joy to own and shoot. It can provide hours of fun plus this is a great way to keep in practice for your other rifles.

Woohoo!

Bought my xt-22 today. Decided to get the tubular magazine, and happy with the decision. Glad you like yours.

I really like mine. Although, I had a lemon the first time. The front sight was squish so I got a new one. Liking it so far.

I love mine. Was shooting with my in-laws and the cousins call it my "Sniper Rifle". I hit 9 out of 9 1 inch bullseyes. Found out last week fooling around at the range that I can repeatedly hit clay pigeons at 200 yds with mine. I have a 3-9x40 sweet .22 scope. The elevation turret is off on yardage but I figured it out.

Newbie

Hi I've done shooting occassionaly with friends on farms etc but I've decided to get into it seriously. I've just put a deposit down on a marlin xt-22 with a leapers 3-9x40 to start of with. My father-in-law is also going to give me his old anschutz single shot which will be good for open sight shooting. I saw this come up as I was researching the marlin xt-22 and am impressed with all the positive reviews. I'm from Australia and will start going after foxes, rabbits and other small things before working my way up to big stuff like this piggy that was taken in northern WA.
Hope the pic works.
