Thinking aboout getting rifled sights installed on my xs7 in .243. Local gunsmith charges 70 bucks to do it. Any thoughts?

They were made for scopes...get a good red dot scope for $40
or a Centerpoint from Walmart for $60...

Have a 3x9x40 on it know. Shoots better then I do out of a vice. Was just thinking I would like to have sights on it for back up. In case something happened to the scope. It would keep me going. Getting ready to switch the scope to a center point 6x14 for a little more range.

It is one of my two favorite cartridges. However, the performance and accuracy of the round really come to work for the shooter at longer distances.
I would not put iron sights on this gun. Not that I am against iron sights but just that this caliber is not meant for iron sights. You will lose too much long range performance.
