What would be a fair price Marlin 336?

A local widow has a Marlin 336 in 30-30 , the rifle was in a cabinet that has been locked since her husband died . I was able to get the cabinet open, it only had minor surface rust .Rifle was in almost new condition besides that what would be afair price to give her for the rifle?

I think the most a gun shop would pay is in the 150-180 dollar range. I think probably 250-300 ish.. maybe a little more if you're having a good year and she needs the money.

lightly rusty...around $200-300, give or take...kinda depends on how bad...and how nice you are feeling

Can also depend on year of manufacture. Worth the higher end if it has the gold trigger and pre cross bolt safety.

I would give her upper two's to 300 if gold trigger and no crossbolt trigger.

As much as you would pay a friend for it. Approximately $325 dollars is a fair price if it will fire. If it won't fire without work then $200 would be a fair price(depending on how much rust). Try to find another one to compare condition and price with.

Thumbs up

Another determining factor, would be the model of the 336.
As there are 20+ models.
The 336SD, & ER's can cost upwards of $1000.00

In my opinion,
You cant go wrong, when buying a Marlin Lever Rifle!

Take it to a gun dealer and find out what he will give for it, then add $50 to it for the widow.
Fisch and TNPIRATE like this.
