marlin model 90 .410

'lo.. the sole purpose of this thread is for people to dump any knowledge about this gun... my dad got one from an auction many a year ago and im having trouble digging up much information about their past (not specifically this shotgun)... they are a .410 over under that break apart and fit nicely in a marlin hard sided case and are rather neat guns. ive been looking for a decent amount of time now on gunbroker and through random internet sites and all im finding is info on the .410/.22 combo, which this is not. basically i would like any info about it, but im rather curious as to a value on them -- are they more or less than the .410/.22 combo, what are they worth on their own, etc? i have ZERO interest in selling it but am always curious of such things, i personally dont think any price is enough for it and im honestly not sure why.. im just taken by it
anyways, any help is appreciated, i just figure a couple of you tend to find places in the depths of the internet that have anything worth finding. im off to track down some more info. thanks in advance

The Info I have is the Model 90 was manufactured in 12,16,20..410 Shotgun or in combination gun configuration(12 ga. over 30-30) with 26",28",or 30" barrels, Boxlock, extracters, and Checkered pistol grip stock, Mfg. from 1937-1958.
Guns made from 1937-1949 had Vent separated barrels, after 1949 solid barrels. Prices depend on condition from 250 to 500 dollars for a Mint 100% one !

With single Trigger add another 100 dollars and for .410 add 25% to the above figures, I do not find a .410/.22 combo listed in the Blue Book !

I found this on the Net !
Marlin Model 90 Combo Gun
Q: I'd like some information on a rifle/shotgun combo gun I have. It's a Marlin Model 90, serial number 17XX. The shotgun barrel is .410; the rifle barrel is in .218 Bee. The gun has a peep sight and is in 90 percent condition. I've been unable to find any information about it. What is its value? --D.E.S., Philipsburg, MT

A: Your Marlin combination gun was manufactured between 1937 and 1959. For years this Marlin shotgun was described as the only O/U made in America. Guns made from 1937 to 1949 had vent-separated barrels and solid barrels after 1949. The double-trigger model was discontinued in 1957, and a single-trigger model was manufactured until 1959. Both Marlin and Sears (marked "Ranger" before WWII or "JC Higgins" after WWII) sold the Model 90, and the shotgun retailed for $39.90 in 1937. Factory information indicates that the .218 Bee and .22 Hornet combo guns were built to special order only, and approximately 500 were manufactured. The receiver of this model was made out of malleable iron, and as a result, traditional blueing methods could not be used. This is why most Model 90 receivers are now a brown or plum patina color. If it's in 90 percent original condition, your gun is worth between $850 and $1,000.

Mooseaman684.

The blue Book is not correct. I have 6 Model 90's and prior to 1949 barrels were solid. After 1949 they were open between the barrels.
