Marlin 101 and Glenfield 10

I have two, the Glenfield 10 was a Christmas gift ages ago, the marlin 101 was a gift from a old aquaintance who had cut it down for his kid and was Illeagle as hell, I pull'd the barrel and pressd in a new "marlin" from Numrich with a very nice stock from them as well to replace the cut stock "was a J.C.Higgins i think" .

If you watch the gun auction websites, older vintage .22 "parts guns" are ofen listed. I've seen several boltless, but otherwise complete M-100's. Might take awhile, but be patient.
(it amazes me how often the bolts are lost on od guns). Headspace is seldom a problem on .22's, so if your bolt is good, it should be an easy fix. Either drop the new action in your stock and add te bolt, or put your bolt in the other gun.

I know of a JC Higgins 103.18 model single shot bolt action locally, had thought about getting it....but too lazy to keep stopping and reloading evry shot lol.....so gonna grab a bolt action repeater instead....oddly enuff, the Marlin bolt action repeaters arent worth as much as the marlin bolt action single shots....blue book shows the repeaters being $45/very good, and $75/excellent. fixin to pay $130 for a very good one tho....this'll be the one time that I'll enter a purchase agreement knowing I'm gonna get screwed; but something about it doesnt bother me

My first.22 was a Marlin Model 100 purchased new by me in 1954 with paper route earnings.I paid $14.95 for it at an Economy Auto Store. It still looks good over 50 years later and shoots great.

BH, a good gunsmith could ream the old barrel out and install a rifled .22 cal liner and chamber it for the .22LR. Brownell's has the liners.
Numrich may have the barrel, if you are lucky.
The auction sites could turn something up, but you may end up having to go the FFL transfer route for a barreled receiver. Extra expense and trouble.
