WOW posted in late 07 and just found this post while looking for more info. you guys must be morons to not have posted anything in 2 years. thanx for the help. I did however find more info on this weapon. like all the safety checks to use to see if this weapon could be fired without repare. it passed all safety checks. |

Your post was made Prior to Me becoming the Marlin Whore...lol Marlin Model 42A Visibile Hammer Slide-action repeating shotgun. It was similar to the Marlin 24 Grade A, but not of as a high quality. Made from 1922-1934 the Model 24 WAS made from 1908-1915 Grade A-$275 Grade B-$455 Grade C-$575 Grade D-$1195 Prices subject to change depending how stupid the people on Gunbroker are getting this month.

Also iv found alot of good deals on ammo online but i cant tell if they are steel shot or lead shot. Last edited by Hallow; 10-07-2009 at 06:34 PM.

That I don't know...that may be better answered by a Gunsmith familiar with OLD shotguns. I'd hate to even try to guess. Try the Shotgun section

EDIT: After more checking it seems that it had been made anywhere between 1922 and 1933. im betting it was made more close to 1922 becaus it has a low number. Last edited by Hallow; 10-08-2009 at 07:35 PM.
