I have one for sale but do not know how to get it to you legally. I live in CA and every thing has to go through a licensed gun dealer. I see one was described as worth about $100 in above comments or questions. I don't know if it would be worth the money to pay a dealer and the postage to get one of these old long shotguns

Wink Marlin Goose Gun

I have been looking for the magazine for my gun--it appears to be selling for around $49 plus shipping if you can find one--I can't find one. I'd value my gun at least $175 and it's not prime condition. Anyone have a spare magazine for sale?

Wink FFL Dealers

You can find an FFL Dealer thru gunsamerica.com website and arrange it that way. The instructions are posted on their website. Cost looks pretty reasonable.

I also would like to buy another Marlin Goose Gun for a fair price.

hello new here

I just bought a marlin model 10 ga that says "the original super goose gun" on the side of it and it shoots 3.5 inch shells. this gun is in great condition with few scrathes and still has the original marlin leather sling with it. I pain $320 for it tax and all, but mostly gave so much for it to put in my collection of bolt shotguns. I am just looking for a bolt 16ga now. well this is my first post on here, since I just joined mainly because of these tread. Thanks for your time.

12GA Model 55 Goose Gun

A quick look showed me it was a Marlin Arms Model 55 "Goose Gun". It's not in bad shape, but there does seem to be some rust buildup or some sort of corrosion along the outside of the barrel (which seems odd to me, but I haven't had a chance to really look it over), and the wood definitely needs some care. I told him I'd take care of it and, over the next week. I'll be working on it and also checking the bolt, magazine, and springs (I'm no gunsmith, but I can do that much).

Now here's what I'm wondering. The gun seems to have a serial number stamped into the barrel and a little stamp that says "JM" inside of an arc near the manufacturer's information. The butt plate has been replaced, and I'm not sure the strap rings are original, either. Is it possible to determine date and place of manufacture with the serial number? Also, I have no clue what these things are worth (I can't imagine too much), but he'd just like to know.

So, can anyone help me out? Also, what's the deal with that seems to be a two-round box mag?

My camera's being borrowed right now. I'll have pics probably in a day or two.

I just bought a 12ga model 55 goose gun myself at a pawn shop for $170.00. It's in excellant shape, although I was a bit affraid of it because it was very dirty, but whe I got home with it and cleaned it up it almost looked brand new. But the two round clip doesn't want to load the second round, so I was search the internet for one.
one more thing about this goose gun was it also has the same two strap rings on it and I bought a leather strap and put it on but the barrel is so long it would be hard to carry it like that for more than a few minute because you would have to be so care or you would be hitting everything with it. But it does give you a place to put it for a minute and also looks good.
I am very happy with this gun!
And I can hardly wait to shoot it.

The two screws are still on the gun, but no sight. The gun is a real fixer-up which I am in the process of reblueing and refinishing. Does anyone know anything about this shotgun? robbinsj
I picked up a Mod.55 the other day with the peep sight in tact and with what I think is the original strap.
Went to my LGS to pick up a Mod.80 "parts gun" and this one followed me home too.
Take the first 2 # of the serial number and subtract 100 to get the year of manufacture.(I think thats how it works).
Mine starts with 26 so it was made in 1974.

As far as I know it is a Marlin sight, the same one as on their 22s but the mounting holes are spaced farther apart.
I actually bought the gun for the peep sight because I wanted it for my Mod.80 but the factory holes are too close together.

Model 55 for sale

I have a Marlin 55 12 gauge I inherited from my grandfather. It has the 2 round clip and is in pretty good shape. The stock has some scratches from use, but the barrel is in great shape w/no rust or scratches. It has the adjustable choke as well.

I'd sell it for $125.

I live in south-central Texas, but I travel a lot for work. I'd be willing to meet up for payment/delivery. If interested, email me at bslvsmopar@msn.com.

Thanks
Brad

100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%

Last MSR was $308.

i took one and mounted a scope on it. it makes a mean slug gun for deer where rifles are prohibited.

2 round mag limit is pretty universal on shotguns for fowling. I don't know why you you would want to push the legal envelope with an extended magazine, there are certainly less clumsy shotguns more suitable for home defense.

I own a Marlin 512 slugmaster and a Glenfield model 50 and the bolts and magazines are interchangeable between those two models. Weather the Marlin 55 falls into that category or not I am unsure. But, for those of you that are looking for a magazine, it might be worth a try.
