| That's either a typo or someone with no knowledge of what it is. Marlin and Winchester are\were two totally separate companies even though some of their guns look similar.

| I agree with toolman on this too. One notable thing about this rifle is the pistol grip, it's different. The sticker on the forearm is a marlin sticker that they use to put on or still put on there rifles. A.H |

| I saw that you can contact the person have you tried that? My only thought was maybe he meant 30-30 win made by marlin and he accidentally flipped the two brands Or maybe hes thinking a 30/30 marlin type rifle made by Winchester.

| Thats humerous!It could be a Marlin chambered for .30-30 Win,or it could be a Winchester chambered for .30-30 Marlin.Darn global market.I'm confused enough. sam. |

| Marlin makes the gun but it is .30-30 Winchester Marlin = gun maker Winchester = inventor of .30-30 Winchester cartridge Wichester developed the .30-30 cartridge in the late 1800's then used it for the earliest days of smokeless (nitrocellulose) powder. Although not usually named .30-30 Winchester in modern discussion, it was really a Winchester development. |
