Anyone else have a .22 981T

Just bought a new one. Hell of a gun for $170.00. I love the tube fed bolt action. Going to sight it in this weekend. It doesn't have screw adjustable sights. Can I just tap the rear sight right or left like the manual says? Any risk of damaging it or precautions to take? Maybe it will shoot straight right out of the box!
