| Factory scopes on the Marlin 336?
Are these scopes that come from the factory any good? Do they hold up in the field. I've heard (other Forums) they fog up, the rings are crap. I'm buying my first tonight and it comes w/ a scope (can't find an A that doesn't locally) so I'm wondering if i should go ahead and buy a better scope. Deer season starts in about a month so i want lots of practice. ANy help would be great thanks.

i don't know which scopes marlin puts on their package guns.i bought a winchester 70 that came with a simmons.i did change the scope out to a burris and put the simmons on a camp carbine in 9mm fir s^%*# and giggles.to my suprise, the simmons functioned flawlessly on the carbine and turned out to be a nice addition.my advice is to practice with the combination, but be prepared wirh a back-up scope.deer season is too short and time in the woods too precious to go out with equipment that is not up to the task.
