Well, I sat down with the Ramline stock from Numrich, and about an hour later I had a push button folder!
(I will say how in a new thread in the Marlin section)

dont know if anyone has talked about this or not but... i just about finished fitting the "lock arm stock" to my 795 and it wasn't only the hold open feature that needed to be, uh "fitted". but it does fit if your willing to dremel for a good hour or two. the biggest issue i had was the trigger frame, i know something was mentioned about a square back frame but the original795 frame does not work out of the box, the stock needs to be ground up quite a bit to fit it. so if the square back frame fits the 795 then get one of those whatever they are and youll be done in 15 min! i havnt shot this gun yet with the new stock but it feels flimsy and loose compared to the original... well see

As many have mentioned about this stock in other forums, it's BEST when Bedded
Also, the trigger guard is best replaced by a Rimfire Technologies Trigger Guard...it works FAR better in that area...less hand-fitting.

Some folks also add a metal rod that runs the length of the forearm and fill the area with acraglass/bondo/etc.

The reason they left that area empty when they made it, was because many folks would drill a hole in the forearm so they could place a Marlin model 60 in it...needed the open area for the tube mag.

We would love to see pics of your completed rifle

Feel free to show off the areas you had to Dremel as well, it may help someone else

ya i didnt want to spend any more money on the stock, but could you explain alittle bit more detail about the rod and fiberglass modifications your talking about? im still new to the correct terms. im assuming you mean filling the area under the barrel with epoxy/bondo/fiberglass and then running a rod through the part of the stock that goes toward your shoulder?

sorry bout my lack of knowledge in that area, and i will get some pictures with some more detail later

The rod goes in the FRONT of the stock, underneath where the barrel goes, you probably noticed a lot of room there

You lay down a little epoxy/etc and place the rod/long bolt/etc, then cover it over with more epoxy to lock it in. It basically adds strength to the forearm of the stock (where your front hand goes).

Just remember not to cover the swivel nut unless you want it Permanently locked into place

The next thing is using the epoxy/acraglass/etc to bed the action with. That's just like what all the threads show it as...but once you are done, it gives you a VERY stable platform to deal with.

Bear in mind that not all 60's are made alike, you have New style with LSHO, and old style without it. There are SLIGHT differences between the two, but nothing that can't be resolved with a little hand-fitting.

Same for the 70/795/995/7000...expect a little modification/pillar bedding to be required for a Perfect Fit.

For the 795, you cut out the magwell hole & fill in the magtube area with whatever you prefer. HAND FITTING REQUIRED.

I've been bugging the squish out of Richard's Microfit Gunstocks to get a specific line of THESE going...for the 795/60's...but I think it's going to take a lot more letters from a lot more people.
They can at present, be Special Ordered. But feel free to write 'em Richards Microfit Gunstocks
There are 9 million model 70/795's that would love an option of this nature.
Silhouette

However, since most 10/22 stocks, with some WECSOG bedding, would work for a 795, and with a lot more mods, would work for a Model 60. Judge for yourself if it is something you'd want to try to handle, but only the VERY experienced in Gunsmithing/stock fitting, IMHO, should even try.

That's the best of what I've found so far on Stocks

Oh, and don't forget Marlin.com for New Items...and a few oddball items that only the guys in Customer Service/Repair know about.

No.

They're different trigger mechanisms and action fastenings. Not compatable.

Has anyone ordered the ATI stock from NoveltyGuns.com (GunGarage.com)? If so, how long did it take to get it? I ordered one on the 27th and have not heard back from them other than the confirmation of order.

On a side note, I recently got these items for my 795 and all work great:

10-round magazine ($14.99)
http://www.midwesthuntersoutlet.com/...zine.aspx?SR=1

One-piece scope ring mount ($16.99) Less expensive than others I've seen with only 2-screws per ring.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A7NGOO
(Ruger 10/22) muzzle break. ($16.99/19.99) Just had to file off (clean up) a tiny bit from front sight groove to make work on the 795.

I just got a good look at one of those ATI's on a Marlin 60 the other day.

The only thing I didn't like about it, was the fact that my Monsterish hands didn't fit well around the rear pistol-grip, but after thinking about it a bit, figured it could be sanded in the right spots a bit for a more custom fit.

It flexes about the same as a Ramline Lockarm when you apply heavy sideways pressure, so as long as you aren't cranking really hard with the sling to the left, it's fine. I have to put a little effort into it to make it flex, so normal folks would have greater difficulty. I'm like JAWS from the early Bond flicks...eh.
I find it within Standard Synthetic Stock tolerances.

I'm just wondering, how much difference is there in the actions between a 795 and a 10/22?

I've emailed Richards Microfit stocks and another place here in the UK, but most of the actions they seem to be able to inlet are for bolt actions and the 10/22 only.

I'm a bit handy with a hammer so I'm sure if they're similar dimensions and a bit of jiggery pokery I might be able to bash one together.

Is there an action from another manufacturer that is similar to the 795 which could be adapted to fit?

I notice they can cut inlets for a 882 and 982. Apart from being bolt actions how different is the layout of the trigger and magazine. If they are the same could I just gouge out a space with a router to fit the rest of the action in?

I've got a marlin 7000 myself, but just can't get on with sporter stock coming from a target shooting background. If only I could find a 7000T!

The 10/22 is wider, so you actually have to fill in areas to get a Marlin action to fit.

Like with the MG-42 kit, you need to bed it & fill in the action area to get a proper fit.

Best bet is to wait a few months for Boyd's to put out another stock for the 60/795
OR...get a used Red/White/Blue 7000T stock from Numrich or other online sources.

The other similar stock is the Mossberg Plinkster, which basically stole Marlin's design a few years ago...it's almost exactly the same, but even less aftermarket gear is made for the Mossy. Synthetic only, as far as I know.

But keep your eyes peeled on GunBroker, a few of the less scrupulous folks bought Boyd's Stocks just so they could resell them for twice the price...if they had real balls they'd put 'em up for sale for what they got 'em for as a Buy It Now.

Just and update: I never received any replies to inquires from either of the e-mail addresses on the website. I tried faxing them to cancel the order but their fax doesn't accept. I looked up the WHOIS info for Gungarage.com/Noveltyguns.com and came up with two other AOL e-mail addresses. Neither worked anymore. I checked the Georgia BBB website to see what I could find and it didn't look promising.

Finally I found that they had an account and were actively selling on gunbroker.com. I sent a PM to them from one of the listings and finally got a reply (from and AOL address) which said that they had notified me and the item was not in stock and would not be filled. At least I now know that I won't have a stock sent to me months from now after ordering from another source.

I should have known better than try to save a couple of bucks buying from a site that looks like it was designed in 1995.

Good Info!!! I wish I could modify that original post...it would help if we were able to update more than 24 hours from the time of the original.

Just found this site today, it's great! Thanks for all your work.
I just bought a 795 in November. I did get the $20.00 Rebate
Nice to know about the accessories.

Model 60/795

In Dec. picked up (2) new 795's from Academy for $109 ea and was able to use the (then) $20 rebate for each bringing net price to $89 before tax. I think the rebates went up to $25 a few days later.

In Jan. picked up a used 60SB (1998 serial number) for $75 with 4x20 tasco made in China scope and factory pressed in checkering. Shoots as well as any I've ever shot and I find I am partial to stainless steel.

Found new mfr'd walnut stocks on e-bay today that fit the 60. Looks to be the same as for my 1998 model (above), but have no reinforcement screw hole aft of trigger insetting; should be simple to fix where required or desired.

As soon as I finished my last tour in the service, I purchased a late 70's or early 80's model 60 with 22 in barrel with long tube that holds a few extra rounds. It was probably the third firearm I ever bought new. I gave it to my son a few years ago. Now I find that I miss it and would like one again. If anyone has one with which they are ready to part, I'd be honored to be it's next owner.

Mick -- Abilene, TX

PS: Did they ever make that 22" barrel with longer feed tube version model in stainless?

I have one 60 and 2 795's and am very curious if the 25T25000P46/AN 6-32 set screws with full ball (first one) as seen on http://www.jwwinco.com/products/section11/gn605-ni/index.html might be a good option for rendering trigger pull fix?

Trigger Itself:
Riflebasix is SUPPOSED to make a Model 60/795 trigger, but i can't find it.

The best MOD I've seen so far to take creep out & make trigger/sear engaugement a light as possible is with THIS...you Drill & Tap a 6/32" hole in a Marlin trigger & put in a 6/32" setscrew for adjustment. Polish the Sear where it mates, adjust the setcrew through trial & error, and you end up with about a 2# to 3# pull with no creep. Looks like this.

This one was done by HotRod9mm of RimFireCentral.com on a not-quite-completed Rimfire Technologies trigger guard. I've got the same 6/32" setscrews, I'm just waiting on a replacement drill press belt so I can do it to all my triggers, and will post on that mod after I complete it.

That's everything I have on Triggers/Action parts so far.
