Oh, yeah, since Swede brings it up...if you live in Alaska or other cold-as-hades region...if there is too much oil in the action it'll freeze up a bit. The Marlins work best with either dry lube or ONE drop applied with a fingertip all over the action.

I live in Florida and sometimes forget that shooting isn't the same all year-round for some

I fiddled with the ejector spring some, and i think i made it worse. So i ordered a new ejector spring, and new extractors and hopefully that will fix my problems. If not i can try to get rid of it, or try more to fix it. Thanks for all of your tips and advice. I'll let you know if i can get it working or not.

I had one of these in my younger days. I shot the crap out of it without ever cleaning it. When I did take it apart, I screwed up the spring. Hopefully this is the solution to your issues.

If I get a drop out of my fingertip it looks like blood. Will that work like oil?It keeps drying out and flaking off. ,,,sam.

My new parts finally came in and i went straight to work putting them in. The ejector spring was all bent out of shape, and the rightside extractor was almost halfway gone. It was to the point of not even touching the rim of the cartridge. I replaced both and now the gun works like a charm, and my brother can finally start shooting it. Thanks to everyone who had some advice to share.

Hi All,,,,just joined today and I'm also having problems with the extractors.
One seems to move farther or better than the other one and was wondering how to remove them and check and/or clean them.
Thanks UJ

Hey there UJ and fellow Ohioan, if you think the extractors are your problem, you can check by looking at them once you take the action apart. Look especially at the right extractor(the one with the side exposed when in the gun) cause this is where i had my biggest problem. It should have a clean edge that extends over the rim of a cartridge when one is against the face of the action. Mine was completely worn away to the point where the right extractor never touched the cartridge. To get them out you need to get a small punch or allen key and push the pins out from the bottom side of the action to the top. I just used the old ejector spring that i had taken out since i didn't have a small enough punch or allen key, but i wouldn't recommend doing this. If they don't look worn try cleaning out behind the extractors where the springs are really good, and clean out the divots on both sides of the barrel.

A BIG thanks to big shrek and others for all the infro..I've pretty much got my problems solved.
The first problem was fixed by "tweeking" the extractor spring as described in the pictures.
The second (bigger) problem was,,it wasn't re-setting the firing mechinism (sp). Meaning it wouldn't fire after cycling the next round.
So after asking more questions,,,,I loosened the stock and rear trigger guard screws and that fixed it !!

Figured "something" was in a bind when tightening the screws.....took a dremel tool and removed some wood on the inside of the stock, so now it works a little better, but still a little more work is required,,,,but atleast I know how to FIX IT !!

Thanks again to all that helped

ps to wmr225,,,,,,,what part of Ohio you from ??

Well I "think" I solved the problem!!! Used a dremel tool and removed ALL the "extra" wood from inside the stock. No more BINDING !! I fired 15 rounds thru it yesterday and it fire and cycled every time.
I'd like to add that this was an after market stock, NOT OEM.
If anyone else is having this problem, simply remove the stock, remove the trigger guard, reattach the trigger guard to the barrel assembly using the rear screw and cycle a few rounds thru it.
I was shooting Federal Value Pack ammo FYI.
I have to readjust the scope, and see if it still cycles.

Thanks again to all that helped UJ
