took my new rifle out to shoot today and i must say, im fairly impressed with these results from such a cheap rifle. with the el cheapo federal power shoks, i got .662 inch max spread range found at 75yds (.88 MOA). cant wait to see how well it performs with good ammo and better weather conditions.

not even shot 50 round through it yet and i already want one in .223 too. it's a shame they don't make it in .223.

note: i also glass bedded the action and under the chamber and free floated the barrel.

I am happy for your experience.

The only thing I would change is your word "cheap" for the rifle.
I rather think the word "affordable" for this rifle would be a better choice.
Marlin has truly poured quality engineering, quality design, and quality control into a rifle designed for the wants and needs of the American shooter.

It is a winner.

yeah i suppose that was a poor choice of words. my only complaint is that it dosnt have a detachable clip. i don't like to cycle unfired round to empty the clip.

Good shooting. I made my XS-7 into a carbine and I also get very nice groups.

One thing I continuely here is people people wanting this or that on the Marlins. They want clips, left-handed actions, fancier stocks, etc. All those things would make the gun more expensive and thereby lessen it's mass market appeal to the blue-collared shooters.
