M96 Straight pull bolt

Has anybody got any experience with the Mauser M96 that has the straight pull bolt?? I bought one a few years ago for my dad in 25-06 and it is a real shooter. We've never fired a factory round in it but with all the loads we've tried, none of the groups have been over 1 1\4, and many being under 3\4 of an inch at 100 yards.

when you say straight pull bolt, do you mean that the bolt is straight and not bent down? The M96 is a very accurate rifle. I had the bolt cut off and rewelded so I could put a scope on it. The Swedish Mausers are probably some of the most accurate milsurp rifles. In 25-06? rebarreled? The actions are good and smooth.

yeah man i got one in 25-06 its one of the best pointing rifles ive ever had shoots my reloads 1" or less my son is using it weve shot several deer with it had no problems great gun just didnt catch on cause it was something different you know most of us get used to what weve always had and dont like change. i prefer rem mod.700 but anyone who can get their hands on one of these little mausers shouldnt pass it up( if its a walnut stocked version )if its a sweet deal they might be worth something one day i dont think mauser made very many of them in the 10 or twelve years ive had mine i never seen another one
