Since the last thread was about shooting the 160gr bullet, I had to try it. Seems my reloading guy was all wrong about it not shooting well. It outperformed the 142gr. hpbt and that was the most accurate in mine. I used a light load of 38 grains of H414 with the Sierra soft point metal jacket. The recoil was nice and light too. Since the 160gr are so much longer than the others they can be seated out to within a few thousands of an inch of the rifling and thats how I set the seating die. I neck sized only and they were awsome! By far the most accurate of any load. This ones gonna be hard to beat. With the new front sight I put on last month and these loads, every single round was in the black at 100 yards with a bunch of dead center bullseyes. For me, thats a miracle. |

I haven't started to work up loads for this one yet, just shooting milsurp. I was planning to go the other direction with lighter bullets, but now I'll try this one out first.

Michael M, I also started out with the lighter bullets and worked up. They shot ok out of mine but not great. The 100 gr. bullet was the worst. At least in my Swede, the heavier they are the better they seem to shoot. |
