Pawn Shop Swede

Went into a pawn shop the other day to ask how much they charge to do a transfer.

They had a Swede Mauser on the rack for $249.99. It had been drilled and tapped and had a scope on it. The gun looked good on the rack. I didn't handle it so I don't know how it was up close. It had a muzzle brake on it. I know some of the Swedes had threaded barrels--is this what is supposed to go on there?

Do you think it was worth $250? Not sure what kind of scope was on it.

How is it going MATT 760. The swedes are fine shooters[6.5x55] and most were in very good to new condition when imported years ago. Its a shame that the reciever was drilled and tapped because of the value for collecting is lost. They are good for hunting also. The threaded end was for an adaptor I believe that was used for firing practice bullets which were wooden. They have coverrs that screw over the threads to hide and cover them. It wasn,t made for a muzzle brake though.

Matt, it's a pawn shop. Never pay full price. Offer $150. Then ask them what will they take? Return in couple months and repeat process.
I once picked up a turk 98 a year after the first visit. Got it for $55 plus tax. One of the best turk shooters to date. Bubba had cut the stock and wrapped in camo duct tape. Yuck.
Good luck.
