| TEA's Swede!
O.K., First I'd like to say I'm glad someone bothers to go over and look at the pics! That's the best thing about these boards to me. This is an M96, 1916 Carl Gustafs Mauser. The Blue is about 98%-100%. The stock has a few minor dings and there is the customary arsenal tape on the butocks, but the stock is well figuered and I love her! I bought her 2 months ago at the range. A fellow there was selling off his collection due to divorce. Had all sorts of really nice stuff cheap! Even a Russian Tiger Druganov for $800.00! Anyhow I picked this honey up for $200 even. She's got the threaded barrel and all #'s match except the barrel bands and the cleaning rod. Here she is..... How's about a butt shot! Here she is with her mismatching cousin, the M48A.

Very nice, Tea. I have a blonde and a brunette myself. I love 'em. I don't think there's a better shooting....better accurate...mauser out there. $200 is a darned good price for what you got! $200 is about what I paid for mine way back when and I see the prices are steadily going up. I only wish there was a stock pile of brass cased, boxer primed non-corrosive ammo out there so I could cheaply shoot and then reload the cases. For now I have to shell out around $7.50 for a box of 20. And new brass is running .34 cents in most of the local shops that carry new brass. I replaced the front sight on the blonde and she's zeroed in for 100 yards. I left the original sight on the brunette and she is still aresenal sighted in for 300 yards. I had a chance to pick up the sporter version about six months ago for $400 and wish I had now. But that's my mistake. I know Snakebite is into Swedes too and he speaks very highly of them. They're just a great, great gun!

I'm supposed to go to the range Sunday morning with her. Haven't had the pleasure of shooting her yet. I do know this though, she has the smoothest action of any bolt action rifle I own. I hope her accuuracy is as good!

Nice! Will post a range report tomorrow. I'll be taking out the Swede, 2 SAR-2's and 3 SAR-1's. Gotta decide which SAR-2 to keep.

Nice 48 also! Did the Yugo stock come like that or did you refinnish it? Looks smooth.

Thanks yall. The stock on the 48 was dark and dingy so I refinished it. I didn't do a super thorough jod as I wanted to retain the grainy appearance. It's finished in Tung Oil, several coats and steel wooled between.
