stewart thanks for hooking me up with dennis at empire arms my k-98 is what I thought it would be, dennis is a great guy, my question is on the 8mm ammo, lots of places like j&g and cdnn advertise non-corrosive ammo, isnt thier something in between mildly corrosive, and advertised as non-corrosive, I got in a bit of trouble with my argentine on this matter, and a shouting match id dont want to go into, I do not want any corrosive ammo in this weapon

all mil/surp 8mm ammo is corrosive. non-corrosive commercial loads, is the only way to go, but costly. with proper and timely cleaning and follow up checks, corrosive is all right, been used for a lot of years by many army's. |

Papa G is right - any milsurp and foreign-made ammo is suspect, even if it's marked on the box "non-corrosive". I bought some S&B .30 Carbine marked "non-corrosive", and still got some rust in the bore when I was tardy in cleaning it. A couple spritzes of Windex Ammonia D down the bore will kill the crud. Then clean as normal.
