My new Mausers

Bought 2 new Mausers yesterday. A FR-8 and a Yugo 98k.
Local shop is going out af business and has all milsurp rifles 35% off. HUGE selection, too much choice. Kinda like being a kid in Toys-r-Us with $20.00 to choose something.

Gonna take them out tomorrow, weather will be in the upper 70's so it'll be a fine day!

Here's the FR-8

Close up of the grain...

Here's the Yugo, photo doesn't do it justice.

Here's a shot of the whole family...

I lucked out on these for sure! I think I'm gonna go back and buy a SVT he had there for $295 after discount. Literally 100's of rifles and acessories to choose from. He'll be out of business by the 20th of Dec. Best gun shop in Tampa. **** shame.

By the way, went out with 5 rifles today, FR-8, Gibbs Jungle carbine, SAR-2, MAS 49/56 and the Yugo k98. The star of the show was the Yugo. Managable recoil, 2" groups and action smooth as silk. Much nicer than my M48A.

Tea, what is a NORMAL price to be expect on an FR-8?

I called a local gun dealer I know asking him to see if he can locate one for me.

Also, can one expect to see matching numbers on those babies?

Thumbs up

Dale, I got mine for $225 at a gunshow. Hard to find all matching numbers, as they are made from re-arsenalled M43 rifles. Bolts and other parts tend to get swapped about.
Mine has a military bent bolt-handle, but it seems to be a scarce thing. Most all pics I've seen of others have the straight bolt-handle. My M43 Airforce model also has the bent bolt.
Perro on Gunboard's FR8/CETME forum has the super-rare Sniper model FR8 with the military scope bases - too cool! That would be THE FR8 to have - the Holy Grail of Spanish rifles!

Seems to me, prices go anywhere from $175 - $300 depending on condition. Mine is all matching cept the bayo. Lots of park as well. Some can be a little beat up. I think PappaG is right, mine almost looks unissued, although there's no way to confirm this.
