Me with my new Chech M98/22

The thing's well over 5 ft. Helps appreciate the days when after firing your five rounds you charged or were charged with cold steel. Not as long as a Brown Bess, but a step in that direction.

It takes a brave man to "fix bayonets" and charge up a ladder with his eyes closed! Hope you're not yet married. My wife would have butt-stroked me and confiscated my Mauser for that....

Congratulations, BattleRifleG3. Great rifle. I'd like to get myself a 98/22 some day too.

I think the barrel on the Mosin is a hair longer, but the Mauser action is also a hair longer, and I think the stock is longer to, so it's probably about the same.

Such a Mosin is on my wish list.

PapaG............................................. ................
Somehow I don't think you would quite fit in, in the hood, or in some homeboy's crib.

No, no...this one: "is the Chekz Chek issue, or was it Turkish reissue???"......three times......you know.....never mind.....

How's northern Kentucky these days? Still fending off NRAJOE and the rest of them Ohioans with your 91/30?

James, actually i'm closer to Tennessee than Ohio (thank God). the northern Kanetucks aren't doing the job they should, too many "O's" are infiltrating through to Lake Cumberland to take a leak!!! should see it around here in the summertime, all them ocean going size boats from Ohio cruising the lake, creating traffic jams in the water. why can't they go to Lake Toledo??? its lots bigger than Cumberland!!! i'm trying to get City council to put in toll booths for them Ohioans, $10 dollars to get in, and $100 to leave. in the mean time i got one of those adult sized tricycles got to figure out how to put a jet engine with after burner on it, and a swivel mount for the Cracano!!! what a concept vehicle!!!

I think that's a great idea. There should be a Moderator somewheres near PapaG at all times, from what I figure.

Some people don't realize it but they invented the pole vault...as we know it today.

That rifle and bayonet proves the point...........it was not an offensive weapon but rather a way to get over the hedge rows, etc.

Run like all get out....stick the bayonet in the ground and over they go. Pray like heck that you don't need a gun when ya get over, he he he he.

......and now we know why Russian bayonets are shaped like icepicks.......and why Russian polevaulters operating in the outskirts of Moscow easily repelled the German polevaulters who were known to have great difficulty planting their Mauser poles in the frozen streets......

We also now know that the M-44 was simply a modification of the 91/30, manufactured for the defense of the Wonka Chocolate Factory in the capable hands of the Oompa-Loompas....

Hey PAPAG, I think you need to ammend that to: $1000.00 to come in but they get it all back if they leave within 24 hrs. 'Course them Ohians got so much money that $1000.00 would prob'ly sound like chump change to them! (Hi Joe!)
