Argentine 1891

Going through my gun stuff I brought out my argentine 1891 (7.65), my father bought it in 1963 from gibsons out of a barrel of old mausers. For grins since i was bored, I did a little research on it. Its marked manufactura loewe berlin, which makes it pre 1899. Its about 75%blue, the crest is ground off(of course) the bore is shiny, and its very accurate, if I remember. (Im always amazed at how well machined the action is on this rifle and the bolt works like silk). Its been sporterized, but is it worth fitting the correct mannlicher stock back on her, or should I leave it as is?. just recently 7.65 mil-surp is readily available, so maybe ill go re-live some old memories with it.

A beauty for sure. That's not a bad looking stock. I'd shoot her as is.

Argentine 1891

Put it back to Mil. Mine had the barrel cut down to 20 inches, love to shoot it she'll rock you back on your heels. However I have a new barrel(in the white), Stock, Handguards, etc to put her back to orginal, as soon as the barrel wears out! Had it for 10 years and the barrel still mics out perfect. Those germans put some serious quality in these guns.
