I was at Cabela's today...found a Yugo Mauser in VGD condition with about 90% bluing and a very nice all matching wood stock. It was missing the cleaning rod...no sling...all number matching for $175...BUT...it had been recrowned and the crown was FLAT! Like you would hack saw something off then polish it! Never seen that before! Is that common? Wouldn't that screw up the accuracy? I was gonna offer them $150 but the flat crown job put me off. There was a "Mitchells Mauser" next to it with the correct type of crown to compare it too (at $300 bucks I had to pass)...what say you about the FLAT crown? Get it or no??????

Not sure about its specifics but you could probably do better pricewise getting a Mauser with your C&R or buying a Mitchell's elsewhere. My smith quoted $50 for recrowning. Some folks say it's an easy job to crown yourself. My only self crowns were done without accuracy in mind.
