why wouldnt they, they refinish the k98's they have and sell them as great condition originals. take a look at the picture they use in their ads to sell the k98's, it was obviously reblued by somebody that has no clue as to the proper finish on a k98. parts in the white that should be blued, and blued when they should be in the white.

i KNOW stampings was your intent, i can read! i just pointed out that if they will refinish a rifle and call it correct, why would they not restamp them!

Well to stamp counterfeit markings on a firearm,in order to modify it to increase it's historic/"monetary"value is deceit.It's all to common in the C&R World today,but I cant see Mitchell's doing it.Taking Battle Scars of an old Mauser,and making it into a right out of the box new pair of shoes,is crime enough in my thinking.Fraudulent markings opens up another door,"fraud" look it up.

That's the first I've heard about them having anything other than M-48's but it doesn't surprise me that they would have other models.
