| Not enough clicks--My M98 Mauser
I went to the range sunday to try out some of my reloads. I had changed the scope from a Tasco to a Weaver. The Tasco was reletively short and I had to lean up over the rifle to get a good sight pitcure. The Weaver is longer and I could sight through it more comfortably. As I attempted to do a static boreight, I could see the target center through the bore, but the crosshairs were too high. I adjusted them till they stopped moving, and they were still too high. So I returned home and changed the scope to a different Tasco. Maybe this one will work better. Nick Last edited by ninwnc; 07-12-2006 at 07:31 PM. |

ninwnc - What you will almost assuredly have to do, is purchase different scope mounts, or end up shimming the scope mounts that are there. If you choose to shim them, then use brass shim stock to cut down on the electrolysis between the shim stock and the steel of the rifle. Remember, if you want the bullet strike to go down, you will need to shim the front scope mount. It is the same as with iron sights, the front sight has to move the opposite direction that you want the bullet strike to move. The rear sight must move the same direction you want the bullet strike to move. ` |
