I picked up a beautiful sporterized model 98 (1944) and i cant seem to load more than two rounds in the mag w/o a jam-30-06. Is this normal?:target:

Nice 98 Timber,If you don't mind telling;What did it set ya back? Kikokid~Do you mean you can't shove more than 2 shell in the clip,op is it jamming when you try to chamber one...Check and make sure nobodys rigged the wrong spring in the clip,and that every things installed right...If it's jamming when you try to chamber a round,work the bolt real slow and see if the shell pops onto the bolt about halfway up the stroke.I had one that had a hard time picking up the first shell in a full clip,and I ever so gently filed a little (and I mean little)of the claw of the extractor.I still have the gun and have never had trouble from it since . |
