Sling

I have a Swedish Mauser with what I believe is an original sling (it has three crowns stamped on it) although it may not be original to this particular rifle. Medium brown color. I noticed some white mold forming around the buckle. Anybody have a recommendation for a leather treatment I can put on it that won't darken the leather? Mink oil, neatsfoot oil, wax, etc?
