What kind of Mauser is this?

Hey. I was at a local pawn shop yesterday working out a transfer deal and I saw that they had a "new" mauser there. I checked it out and it said Carl Gustaf. It wasn't chambered in 8mm, but it was more like 6.5 ( six point something )the guy was saying. It was in great shape and they only wanted like $140 dollars. Should I jump on this deal? Is it a Swede, or is it another kind of mauser that shoots this round and how would I be able to distinguish which kind it is?

Well, most Carl Gustavs/ Swedish Mausers I know of are 6.5 x 55, and are quite a good thing indeed generally. I`m no expert.

Update

I just got back form the pawn shop and I am almost 99.99999% certain it is an all matching M96 Swedish Mauser. It was made in 1900 by Carl Gustaf, It has the crown markings on all of the metal parts, it is definitely chambered in 6.5x55, the barrel is stepped at the end for a bayonet, and it has the brass disk in the stock with the accuracy and bore condition markings on it.
The wood has the usual small dings that you will find on most mil-surps and the bluing overall I would give an 80%.
So what did I do? I put it on layaway of course!! I'm not passing up a ( I'm pretty sure ) Swedish Mauser for $130!! ( I was mistaken, it was marked for $130 instead of $140 like I said in last post )

If the bore is good and the overall finish of the rifle is good $130 IS a steal.

It is, indeed a Swedish Mauser. If it's a long version of the rilfe it's a M96.

I paid right at $300 for each of my M96s (excellent condition) and that was three-four years ago.
