New Yugo 24/47

FINALLY, I got this thing cleaned up. I spent, in all, about 6 hours removing all the cosmo from the rifle. Turned the kitchen table into a work bench, to which I heard "What was that? Are you tearing up my table", about 10 times. Anywhere, here she is.

The bore looks really good, nice and shiny. I've thought about buying one of the Russian side mounts to put on the rifle so I can stick some of the PO(I think) and POSP scopes on it. Would make for an interesting mix.

Good looking gun, Pred. I just got mine cleaned up as well. Mine had a new handguard on it that hadn't even been fitted to the gun yet. I had to take almost 1\4" of wood off of each side to get it to fit right and am still not through w\it.

I cant wait to take it to the range. However one thing does bother me, when you took yours apart was the tip of the firing bent at all? Mine is a bit, but I'm not for sure if it will cause a problem or not. If it doesn't go boom, I guess I'll just order a new one.

Nope, mine was fine. If you need another one, ck out Tennessee Gun Parts Springfield Sporters or you can get a new one from Brownells or Midway.

I had two of these. I sold one to my friend. They were great shooters. Just don;t forget to clean well after shooting corrosive 8mm ammo.

Nice looking guns, guys.

I don't have the 24 but I got a Yugo 48 and it's quite a shooter.

With the steel butt plate it kicks like a pizzed off Brahma bull though.

I managed to develop a load recipe for mine that made it even much more accurate.

My only complaint, albeit a minor one, is the front sight post.

I wish you two the best with yours! Pred, if you do the scope thing is that a set up that alters or leaves marks of any kind on the blue or furniture? If you set it up can you give me your opinions on it? Thanks.

I'm really thinking about buying one of the mounts that allows you to put the Russian scopes on it. I think this gun would be great with one of those 6x42 POSP scopes on it.

I have a hard time coming to grips with wanting to buy any scope that has POS in it's name followed by a P that might mean poop seed. LOL

Yeah I know, every time I bring that up to someone, I can barely get the POS out before they get a strange look on their face LOL.
