You better get on the stick, Steve.. I'm catchin' ya.. Bought my second M38 Husky today.. Now for a 96.. And maybe a carbine.. I hate guns.. They make my wallet empty.. ![]() I'm blaming the fact that I'm 1/4 Swedish as the reason I like these guns.. (yeah, right)

Only of my first one (1941 Husky). I don't pick the second (1942 Husky) until Friday.. (Gunshop's only open Fr,Sa,Su) so I'll pop some of that after I pick it up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This one's right on the money at 100 yards with factory Remington ammo, even though it's got the 300 yard rear sight. The "new" one's got a 100 yard rear sight, which brings the question of whether or not it'll hit in the same location?? I'm hunting for more dates, just because it's fun.. (and expensive?)

| Compared to other Mausers, yeah, but these aren't other Mausers.. They're Swedes!! I felt lucky to get the 1942 at $300... The craftsmanship and quality, let alone the accuracy would rival any $500+ gun on the market, today.

Guys, those are beautiful. The second rifle I ever fired was a Swedish Mauser and there was no trouble for a rookie like me to hit my target at one hundred yards. My brother picked up two of them last November from a buddy at work who was clearing his collection. Bro. got 'em for 100 bucks each. How cool! I keep asking to buy them, but he likes 'em too much so far. He got a 1898 (?) and a 1943. Thanks for all the info on 'em.

Steve (and anybody else) I picked up my 1942 Husky today and it's in better shape than my '41, but basically exactly the same. My stock disk is the same, too.. The only real difference is that the barrel end is threaded. (Grenade launcher, right?) Anyway, short of Gunbroker or Auction arms, where can I get at least the green plastic things that screw on the barrel, or even better, a flash hider that I've seen on some guns like this?? I'll search around, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Paper- The threading is there for a blank firing adapter. There is a metal thread protector usually available on ebay, and a flash hider, that's not original issue for these but pretty cool! In addition there is a front sight protector/hood that is original that slips on the barrel and doesn't use the threads. Also you may want to pick up a bayonet with scabbard. I have an extra flash hider, PM me if you are interested. Do a search on ebay for "Swedish Mauser" in "Sporting Goods".

Thanks Steve! I see that Samco has the flash hiders and the PVC thread protectors on their site.. I'll email them and see what they have on hand, and I have two of their Spanish Guardia Mausers on order (for 3 months now) and I'll see where that order stands while I'm at it. I found a flash hider on gunbroker, but somebody wants it more than the $25 I was willing to pay, and since I found them on Samco for $17, that guy can have it..
