How can you tell the bore has been miked at 6.5 and what do the numbers mean. I've had mine for years and could never determine what the numbers mean. Thanks Doc |

The large piece of the pie disc is marked with an arrow at the 0 this indicates that it was miced at 6.50 the scale runs from 6.49 to 6.55,the small pie piece is not marked at all indicating that the bore was deemed to be in as new condition when last inspected, the torped indicates that the gun was adapted to take the boat tail 139 gr m/41 spitzer bullet as opposed to the old round nose bullets, these discs with lesser number range are generally found on the older guns.the word overslag refers to the striking point above the point of aim at 100mts,I am not familiar with the scale of measurement used but an abscence of a number in this portion indicates that the gun is accurate at 100mts and the point of aim will be the point of impact.there are many sites out there that will provide more detailed analysis of this disc feature. Overall and allowing for any wear and tear since this gun was last inspected your disc would indicate that your rifle is in good condition.

Yea, I understand the disk info. Ive never seen one with only one row of figures. Normally see with 2. M38 vs. M96 or? Look and see... OZ, holdover unit of measurment is streck, which is applied to the decal for holdover based on sights setting.
