M27/48 Bolt Disasymbly instructions I just got an M27/48 and it is saturated with cosmoline. After cleaning the barrell, receiver, trigger, and soaking the bolt in kerosene, I reasembled it and tried to test fire it. The bolt seems to still have more cosmoline in it. The firing pin moves forward enough to dent the primer, but not hard enough to fire it. Who knows where I can find instructions on how to break down the bolt, and more importantly, how to reasyemble it? OR, how to clean it without taking it apart. Also have to build one of those "Easy Bake" ovens to sweat out the stock. It is so saturated that the wood is solid black. Nick Last edited by ninwnc; 01-21-2008 at 10:01 AM.

Thanks for the quick response. That info is in PDF format and this webtv unit cannot access it. Does someone know of any other sources? Nick I found step by step instructions at THE GUN NETWORK LLC. So if anyone else needs it, that's where to go. Nck Last edited by ninwnc; 01-22-2008 at 09:44 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I followed the instructions and got the bolt apart. It was solidly packed with cosmoline. After afew minutes of rubbing and scrubbing, it was clean. I lightly oiled it and reassembled it. I fired two rounds just to make sure it worked. By the way, when you are compressing the firing pin spring with the bolt head, be careful. I pinched the #@*&$%# out of my hand when I tried to turn the bolt head 90°, while holding the pin from turning. So I got a piece of 4x4 and drilled a hole for the fireing pin to fit into, down to the point where it widens out, and pressed down and turned it right off. No Problem. The pin was held from turning by the wood, making turning the bolt head much easier. Nick Last edited by ninwnc; 01-24-2008 at 09:38 AM.
