New Swede

So I picked up a new husqvarna swede m38 yesterday. Saw it on gunbroker and noticed that it was for sale locally in a sort of close gun shop so I just dropped in and wound up getting a nice price.

So what to do? I want to put a scope on it and use it. Its not a collector but would make a great shooter as the bore is really good on it and its in overall excellent shape.

Numbers dont match, stock has been refinished, blueing shows very very little wear.

here are the pics

She's beautiful! Love those Swedes! Myself included, LOL! They make a WWII type scope mount that is quick detachable and maintains zero. It also allows the use of the iron sights, and accepts 1" dia scopes. Requires drilling and tapping, and some wood removal. But they are expensive at around $300+, as they are made specifically for the M96 and M38 Swedes. It is copied off the M41B Sniper mount. It is really cool as there is a windage adjustment built in to the rear ring!
BOOMER SOONER!

Well, you've got a couple things going against you with the non-matching numbers and the refinish, but...

I'll bet it'll shoot the balls off a male fly at 100 paces!!

My first M38 Husky didn't match either, but it didn't seem to matter to the big doe I shot with it a few weeks ago.. It dropped her right where she stood..

Enjoy that beautiful rifle!! If you're looking for ammo, AIM has ball and huning ammo available.

snicker..
I refuse to be mean to Tex.. Mostly because he's only an hour from my house, and because my car will be parked at the Milwaukee airport all next week.. I don't need 4 flat tires when I get off the plane..

EEEWWW you guys know how to hit a soft spot don't you! You all just go ahead and have your fun at my expense. I'm gonna tell my big brudda!

I DID find a good condition 96 last week though. I thought 249 was a little high so I didn't pick it up. Looked kinda rough for that price.

I know.. Weird thing is, I get to park in front of the terminals with my car, and I hope he doesn't know that the side of the car says "Milwaukee County Sheriff"..

Boy, I sure hope he doesn't mess with it while I'm gone..

Do I look like I have S-T-U-P-I-D written all over my forehead?

Everyone knows that the side of your car is pasted with some toy shield and Milwaukee Police Department. You bought that car at auction and I is gonna mess with it!

I only use the pink VW when I drive to O'hare.

Oh, and that big long black station wagon has my gun safe in the back.. It's coffin shaped.

I saw a wood coffin at a gun show I was at a couple weekends ago. It was sitting on a table. The sign on it said it was the second fastest gun in town. It was off to the side by itself.

ok so I got around to deciphering the disc markings and its shows no mark on the 123 bore condition, and show 6.49 mark for the barrel dia. and it shows no mark for the aim point. So I guess that means that when it was marked it had a perfect bore and hit at point of aim. So, what about the 6.49? more luck? lol
