what is meant by K98 Large Ring 8mm action

Does anyone know what is meant by a Large Ring 8mm action on a K98 Mauser? I am looking to buy a stock. I am looking at one which hast the correct flat butt plate like my original stock. The description, however, says that it is for the K98 Large Ring 8mm action & probably wont fit other rifles. How can I tell if it will fit my rifle?

Well it depends on what rifle you have. There are Large ring Mausers and Small ring Mausers, It is the size of the reciever right behind the barrel.
The Large has A bigger diameter...

As the other gentlemen said, K98s are large ring. The small rings are Swedish, Spanish, and the like. One other thing to keep in mind...there are different lengths and different screw patterns. I can't remember, but I believe Midway-USA or Brownells have a diagram in their catalogs. A Yugoslavian Mauser is considered a large ring, but the magazine box and action is shorter. Turkish Mausers are large ring, but have smaller diameter barrel threads.
