7.62 mm NATO Israeli Mauser

Hello,

I've just bougt an Israeli mauser. Can anyone let me know where I can find information to sight in the rifle on the web ( ie - Do they have different front sight post in varying heights (like the SMLE) for sighting in ? At what range were they sighted in, what sight picture is required, etc.)

If they have different front sight sizes where could I source some from?

Any info would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I believe the sights on the Israeli K98 are regulated for the 7.62 NATO round. It was an issue weapon for the IDF for many years, and it seems to me they'd have sights on the gun that work with the round it fires. If I'm not mistaken, the rear sight is the ramp-type, adjustable for distance out to either 1000 or 1200 meters.

I don't recall reading anywhere about the K98 having different sight heights, unlike the Swedish Mauser. If you find that you need to replace it though with a taller one, Tenn. Gun Parts or possibly Numrich would be a couple places to look.
