| New to me mauser
Hello all, I went to a gun show on Saturday and traded for a Venezuelan Mauser, Maybe a model 24 or 24/30? It is made in Belgium. Matching numbers on the stock and receiver. The bolt handle is bent, however the bend in the bolt and cut in the stock, matches the bend and cut in my commercial model F.N. mauser. There are some minor pits on the blued parts of the rifle, but these are hard to spot. Bore is excellent. Will be posting pictures later... On a side note I was looking for a leather ammo pouch for this rifle and came across a very bad idea. It seems this fellow in California is taking old Swiss ammo pouches apart, and making watch bands from them. These pouches are still in good shape and usable as a pouch. Whats more he charges $200.00 for them. If it was a old and gnarley one with no life left ,I could see making something useful. Andy
