Yay me

Finally found a Mauser that called to me .

Paid $300 for it, lots of gouges but that just adds to the historical value for me, smoothest action out of ALL my rifles, matching numbers all around, fires 7mm. Wondering where to find the year she was made in, where she came from and all that good stuff .

I wish I could be more help than just an empty post that is saying congrats on your new acquisition. I tried doing some research and wasn't able to find any conclusive evidence to be able to determine year of manufacture to the serial number. There is lots of good info over at Gunboards in their collector forum. They've got all kinds of milsurp rifles there are discussions on. Hopefully you can find something out, or someone else can jump in and tell you everything! You might try PMing Sarge he's a Mauser guru.

Thumbs up

Is this one of the Sportsman's Guide Mausers? I may be tempted..... Heck, what's another caliber to load....?

Everyone I have heard with 7mm Mausers loves them. One of those inherently great cartridges.
