| New M48 for me!
Picked up a Unissued/Unfired Yugo M48 at the gun show this past weekend., the ones they made on German tooling. Also got 2 bayos for my Hakim, but that will go in another thread in the Hakim forum. Anyway, shes a beaut! Nice stock, all matching, and I can see myself in the bore. The bolt needs to be stripped down and cleaned of cosmo and need polishing. Get to that one of these days . Pics to come in the AM!

Congrats on your M48! I have only seen a few at gun shows. I don't know what the difference is between the M48s and the 24/47. So will you be shooting this then?

Yes, shot it Monday. Forgot the targets so not too sure how well it shot. We were shooting a a piece of cardboard taped to the stand in place of the target ![]() Not too sure of the differences in the M48 to the 24/47 other than the bent bolt. They are pretty much K98's just a little shorter. I bought it so I don't shoot out my K98 that's in really good shape.

| The main difference seems to be that the M48 bolt handle is bent and the stock is redesigned to attach the sling to the side of the stock like a K98k.

Congrats on the M48. I lucked up on one myself, and yes I shoot it. I even added a scout mount and 4x32 LER scope. I plan to use it for deer hunting. I ordered some Sellier & Bellot ammo. It's much better than US made hunting ammo. Again, CONGRATS on your rifle!

Well, I suppose there would be one good thing to buying the factory ammo. After you shoot it, then you can reload for it

The M48 is NOT in any way, shape or form a Kar98k. Different critter altogether. The M48 is descended, as is the M24/47, from the FN Model 24 export model. Different action than the K98 - receiver is different length and bolt will NOT interchange. Upper hand guard totally different. This is the gist of our arguement against thosefalse, misleading, even lying, ads by Mitchell's Mausers. Lets not spread the untruths. I have the M48A - has the stamped magazine floorplate. Good shooter, I got it from a young feller who had bought it unissued.
