I have a rifle that has a Mauser action on it. I dont know if it is a 98 mauser action but I do know that the rifle is a Golden State Arms Co. make, and is a Santa Fe model 1946. Its chambered in 30-06 and I want to rebarrel it to either 7mm ultra mag or 300 ultra mag. Can I use a remington model 700 barrel for this action? Please tell me all info you have and thank you.

No.The threads are different,a lot different.You must buy a barrel that is threaded for an FN and short chambered,Then you install the barrel and finish ream for headspace. ,,,sam.

Sam didn't the Golden State Arms use the Santa barbra push feed Mauser look alike action? I don't think they used a Zastava CZ action which is a Ugoslovian made FN Mauser clone made on the FN machines bought from FN.

I have the same rifle and my advice is just enjoy the 30-06 the only other way would probably be to buy a barrel blank and have a gunsmith do it, I was just at the gunsmith with mine and they didnt use any standard company parts, the holes for the scope mount are custom drilled. well the scope mount was my thing to change but only a barrel blank would maybe help.
