Yea, I keep reading that you should only use magnum primers when recipes specifically call for it. I haven't seen where one of mine does, and I thought at one point someone "saved me" from doing it by reminding me of that and adding that doing so could lead to high pressures.

Your welcome. There is a question about primers in Sierra Bullets FAQ. The answer says you don't always have to use magnum primers just because it is a magnum round. It is in the handgun section.

Hi Jim! Happy thanksgiving to you and yours as well.

In other news, I signed up on Cast Boolits. Didn't have time yesterday to post any questions, but I'm definitely going to check it out. Looks like a lot of good information to be found on there.

I'll post a recipe APB for those 158gr FWCs on Cast Boolits and see what I can find, as well...

Thanks for all the great advice!

To find a good load for those 38 wadcutters I would suggest posting on one of the Cast Bullet sites. Cast Boolits - Dedicated To The World Of Cast Bullets! The Cast Bullet Association Inc. Forum

Hahaha Will do. It is funny I have a coffee can full of 44cal "Keith" SWC's that "the old man" gave me before he died. I have had them for ten or fifteen years now. I finally loaded some of them last week. "The old man" is what I call a man that I used to load and cast(mostly watched him cast) with. He died back in the nineties. He was cantankerous and ill(unless he liked you) as hell. I sure do miss him. I think Ill probably end up keeping just a few to remember him by.

Not stupid at all. I appreciate all the encouragement and advice!

Not sure what to tell you re: the runtime errors. Normally these happen from time to time when certain websites have errors in them, but I've never had a problem with Midway's page. So, maybe it's IE? Could be a toolbar, maybe or an add-on? Or in a worst case scenario, spyware or adware?

I'm a big fan of Firefox, which I feel is better than Internet Explorer... I use it almost exclusively. You can download it for free at Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client.

I have a big ol' Folgers can of cast wadcutters I'm pretty sure my dad made about 30 years ago. I'll certainly have some questions for you when I get brave enough to try them out...
