Wal I'm gonna miss your messages for a while Earl. Not many people on here talk to me any more. So I don't know if you'll get back in time to read this or not before you go. But I'll be praying that you have a safe trip down and back. An I won't write you off!
And I guess I'll hear from you in a couple of weeks.

Hey i made it back but i know your green light aint on... Well i gotta message on the phone ta git myself down ta Culpepper,Viginia. Seems my brother needs some help building a big horse barn. My tools have been a itchin ta gitta work for about a month now so i will be leaving This Saturday or Sunday mornin. He pays 225.00 per day and most meals and gas so i cannot refuse this oppurtunity, beside this my be the last time i work with him. I have not worked with him in 30 years and he knows his older brother still has the moxie. Now when i gits myself on back home i will write ya and a few others. So since your my buddy im gonna expect ya not ta write me off as a goner. "I'll be back" you know Arnold Swartzenager style...LOL.... The farmers are pissed already, no more free work for at least 2 ta 3 weeks, they don't pay, As i help them for free hoping that the big guy upstairs will keep me around a few days longer and redeem myself as years ago i wasn't such a good Christian, especially out of this Country. Not that i am a holy roller now but i feel i must give back. Take care my friend and i will talk at ya in 2 to 3 weeks....Your Buddy Earl

Wal sounds like your busy. I've got to do some laundry and then see if I can get out or if the creeks flooded again. Wasn't yesterday or over the road at least but who knows know.

Good talking to ya Andrew and i hate ta cut ya short.LOL.......but my wife is on her way home and its about time i make this place look like sompin was done..LOL....... it will take me about a half hour. Then its off ta the market for some grub.
-
Ok that sounds good. I sure like burnin the red oak and locust they give me a hot long burn. I have some poplar but just a little. I make a trip up to the Amish folks and get my kindling, they make oak flooring and save the little scraps in a heap for any one that wants them. Last year the two fellas were off puttin a roof on another Amish house and i left the Mrs. 5 bucks, man it was like i gave her 1,000 dollars, kept thankin me clear ta the jeep and wagon....Maybe she wanted ta go home with me ..LOL... maybe had enough of that there hard life. My wife would not agree ta such a notion......LMAO...

Yeah I'm working every night cept saturday and sunday.
Yep everybody down here calls it a rick and nobody knows what a cord is. I do but most people don't. I put steel stakes in the ground 8 feet apart and 4 feet tall and stack the wood in em and thier you go, a rick!
-
Hey i snagged ya this time.....LOL... A rick seems ta be a half cord,i dont know fer sure but i understand a cord may be 4 Ft high with two rows of about 12 inch or better split wood x 8 never the less seems like a fair price. I have never heard of the term "Rick" just a Rick of hay over this way LOL... Are ya workin tonight?
-
Wal I never contribted. I don't know. Maybe you ought to try again.
Wal I sell em by the rick. Ya know 8 feet long 4 feet tall and over a foot wide. And I get 45 for that. Most people think it way to high. But after you add gas oil for the chain saw. Bar oil. And Then count the gas for the truck to haul it I'm not getting much out of in especially after I deliver it if somebody wants it delivered. So most people sell for around 40-50 a rick.
I cut green or dry. Right now I've got a stock pile from last winter that has about 30 ricks in it. And I need to crank it up to at leas 60 or 70 fore winter. I'm the "popular wood seller" in the area in the winter. Last year I think I sold about 150 ricks. It's a lot of work! And it u have to stay at it every day. But I'm gettin tired of doing it.
Wal I see your on so I'll wait for a reply fore I get off.
