The Gold Dot Short Barrel is one I'm interested in. Does that come in .38 or only .357? My .357 has a 4" barrel. We did one Hornady .38 special test (non-+P) from a 1 7/8" snubbie barrel and it failed to expand at all - it went into the sixth jug and was retrieved intact. It was the basic XTP JHP. Probably from a 4" barrel it would have worked.

We drove over the Nashville for a funeral yesterday and went to Opry Mills mall afterward. There was a tool store in the mall where I purchased a caliper for measuring bullets (before/after). It just said 6" caliper...only about $15, but when I got it out looking at it later I found out it was in metric (mm). So, now I'll have to use the calculator to make the conversion into inches. ha. I'll take photos probably later today. Mike

Sounds like a fun day. I'd love to do some of those tests but there are very, very few places in FL where you can just go shoot outdoors and most ranges won't allow the jugs. Ever used the Gold Dot Short Barrel? I have a new .357 titanium snub and I want to try some short barrel and some Critical defense too. I shot 50 of the .40's I sent you last week. Did 20 at 7 yards, 20 at 15 yards and 10 at 25 yards wuth my XD .40 Subcompact. The 7 yard shots were in a real tight group. The 15 yard shots were in a 4 to 5 inch group. The 25 yard shots were scattered but all 10 hit the paper. At 25 yards with a 3" barrel I'm happy just hitting the paper. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

For the life of me,I can't feature your attitude as to raising/teaching a child.Teaching them to shoot at people (I damn well know what airsoft is)with any form of firearm is tatimount to teaching them that school shootings or drive by shootings is ok.Using the threat of a cattle prod to enforce discipline is sadistic.I hope you consider that unfortunate child and seek help.I am sorry I had to write what I did,but not sorry I did it.I'll bet this isn't the first time you have heard it.Children are loaned to us to love and care for,not to torture and abuse,either phisically or mentally.Please seek help for the sake of the child as well as yourself.You and your child will be in my prayers. sam.
