- 09-08-2008 02:39 PM - permalinkSwedeSteveI would think the gun is safe to shoot. I would def glue it and clamp it up. Just wipe off all the excess before it dries. I would shop around at Reich and Buymilsurp for a complete stock. Short of that I have a M44 stock with no metal or handguard I'd send you.
- 08-10-2008 02:30 PM - permalinkknightRideri hear ya sometimes life throws shit at ya sometimes it dumps 5 tons of shit on you all at once . keep your head up buddy .
- No, knightrider, they aren't. My tenant in the house I inherited just sent notice she won't be renewing her lease. Her kids have pressured her to move into one of those Senior Citizen developments handy to a hospital. That will impact the family economy until I can get a new tenant in there, which might take a couple of months.
Plus which, there's trouble with the leach field and the septic tank has to be pumped for the second time this year up there. The plumbers have the leach field repair on their schedule but haven't done it yet. Means spending more money and dipping into savings, which I hate to do.
On the other hand, the "check engine" light issue in the minivan turned out to be covered under warranty, so that got fixed at no charge. One little sliver of silver lining!
And I picked up the FEG AP-MBP yesterday and hope to get to the range with it on Tuesday. One thing that disconcerted me was the trigger guard. To stip down the pistol, you pull it down and slightly over, like a Makarov, then ease off the slide, just like a Makarov. But unlike the Mak, the trigger guard when in normal posiiton has a hole in it that looks like it ought to be up inside the frame, and isn't! I finallf figured out what they did, I think: FEG used a PA-63 trigger guard to build these. Since the frame is scaled down, there's nowhere for that stud with the hole to go. The front of the trigger guard is flush against the frame. That peculiarity seems to be normal for this pistol. Weird, huh?
I jsut wish the good Lord, or Murphy, or whoever it is that decides to pick on people and families would find another target.
Cyrano - Cyrano, Hey I was going to ask you how things were going with the scope mount. But then I read your message from 7/17/08 and realized you got your hands full allready.
I hope things turn around for you, I'm sure they will. Take care, Jeff - 07-21-2008 03:24 PM - permalinkknightRideri hope everything gets better ! I know what you mean everything happens at once .

K.R. - I'm out here, but it's been a lousy week.
On Monday, the ejector pump in the lower level of the house quit. $700 to replace it. As I have 2 other bathrooms, this is not an issue.
On Tuesday, (as was eventually determined) the axle in my Town & Country broke. Fortunately, we have extended engine and powertrain coverage, so all it will cost me is a $100 deductible. However, they people at the Chrysler dealership still don't know why the "check engine" light came on about 600 miles back while the wife was on an extended car trip. That, they will look into after the axle is fixed. It means that I will be ferrying wifey dear to and from the train station until the red car is fixed. This in turn means getting the kid off to school will be complicated by the necessary trips to the train station.
On Wednesday, my tenant in the house on the Cape told me her kids were pressuring her to move into a senior citizens community and she might be canceling her lease. Hasn't made up her mind yet. That would mean an at least temporary $1600.month reduction in the household income.
Today, I was coming home from physical therapy by way of the gun store (to do the paperwork on the FEG Model AP-MBP Walther PP clone I bought so I can start the process of adding it to my permit) when the "check electrical system" light in the station car came on. I immediately took it to my mechanic. He put enough of a charge in the battery that I could go get the kid from school and return to the garage. He tested the electrical system and discovered the alternator is shot and must be replaced, at a cost of $350 including labor. He couldn't promise me the car today, and called a little while ago and said he could not finish the work today; I'd have to pick it up tomorrow. ade frantic arrangements to borrow a car from her uncle who lives next door and will go get her in that. Tomorrow he will drop her at the train station and the car had better be ready for me to go get her in or there will be hell to pay.
Saturday, a family friend who for practical purposes is her older brother will be stopping in for a visit with his two tween girls enroute to the airport for their flight home after visiting the grandparents. As wifey wants the house and property to be immaculate, I just know there will be screamining over how much (not enough, it never is) I was able to accomplish to make it so.
I wonder what Friday is going to bring? - 07-17-2008 04:03 PM - permalinkknightRiderheloooooooooooooooo !!! is their anybody out their ?
